NYBA Minor Mosquito AAA Returns To Winner’s Circle
Cambridge has always been a special place for the North York Blues. In 2017, they captured the tournament title, and after a year’s absence, the Minor Mosquito AAA team was back in the winner’s circle.
The Blues perfect weekend got off to a great start as the team was able to shut down arch rival Peterborough in a rematch of last year’s OBA final. That would be the closest game of the weekend.
The next morning North York rolled over Waterloo and crushed Etobicoke which resulted in a perfect round robin set-up a semi-final against the Milton Mets.
The Blues broke out to a huge lead and managed to stave off a late Mets rally to earn a spot in the final. The Blues once again easily handled Etobicoke to earn its second tournament victory of the season.
“It is a nice way to go into our little mid season break” said head coach Mark Bondy. ” Hopefully we can ride this momentum right through Labour Day.”
The Blues are back in action next week against Scarborough.
